This quote means that, you shouldn't be vice nor hate, because a right heart supersedes money and fame by a long shot. So in a way yea, ctr is cool and bad is wrong. When you do wrong you feel, wrong and when you do right you feel right. There is nothing confusing about it. Ben is trying to explain that his ideas and mentality is the only one we should follow.
